The section of the Green River from Dinosaur National Monument to its confluence with the Colorado River is known in Utah as the Lower Green. I have fished this section from the Monument to the bridge in Ouray, Utah. In the past all I fished for was Catfish, but I have caught a number of smallish Carp from 1-3 lbs over the years by accident. I really don't know how big they get in here, but I intend to find out. Most fishing occurs within 1/4 mile of the few bridge crossings in the area. An angler with a boat should be able to find some truly virgin waters to fish. I am currently completing the construction of a 13' jon boat for just such a purpose. Finding a suitable launching ramp may be difficult, but I thing with a bit of hunting I'll find two or three areas that are suitable. This is especially true since I purchased a four-wheel drive pickup in September. |
