As any creature that has been bred in captivity for commercial purposes, the Carp is found in a number of different strains that have been produced for various purposes. All of the Carp mentioned here are of the same species: Cyprinius Carpio. Just as every variety of dog are the same species, the Carp is the same. One species, many varieties or strains.
